International Museum Day – 2018

In the context of International Museum Day, the Mauritius Museums Council has organised two painting competitions at national level among students of grade 12 in Mauritius and Rodrigues. The themes chosen were as follows:

1- Local Trees of Mauritius

2- Lame dan Lame pou enn Lil Moris Modern

A Prize giving ceremony and an exhibition on Edward Pitot also was held at the National History Museum, Mahebourg on 18th May 2018.

Winners of the competitions were awarded prizes as follows:

Theme : Local Trees of Mauritius

1st Prize: Brouard Hannah of Northfields International School, Mapou
2nd Prize: Gunga Nuweshari of Mauritius College Boys, Curepipe
3rd Prize: Lo Wan Sing Jean-François of London College, Port Louis

Theme : Lame dan Lame pou enn Lil Moris Modern

1st Prize: Bookun Rouma Devi of Bon Accueil State College
2nd Prize: Daby Yannish of Sookdeo Bissoondoyal State College, Rose Belle
3rd Prize: Doyal Mansi of Mahatma Gandhi SS, Solferino ,Vacoas

The paintings have been displayed at the National History Museum,

Mahebourg for one week.
