Introduction

The museums under the responsibility of the Mauritius Museums Council represent a very important educational resource in the form of objects/specimens, documents and publications. The Mauritius Museums Council provides the whole public, adults and children alike, a unique learning environment, where they can learn at their own pace and that respond to their interest in self-directed learning. Th​e Mauritius Museums Council also invites educational institutions to build museum-school partnership and develop together activities that join its museum resources with school curriculum. The educational programmes offered by the Mauritius Museums Council include activities both inside and outside its museums.
