In the context of the commemoration of 125th Birth Anniversary of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (SSR), the parent Ministry launched an exhibition entitled “ The Life and Legacy of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (1900 – 1985)’ at the Salon Mairal of the Municipal Council of Port Louis on 18 September 2025.
The exhibition has been revamped and now reopened to the public at the Natural History Museum, Chaussée, Port Louis from 17 October to 29 November 2025.
Venue: First Floor, Mauritius Institute Building, Natural History Museum, Chaussée, Port Louis.
Visiting hours; Monday,Tuesday,Thursday & Friday – 09 00 – 16 00 hours
Saturday – 09 00 to 12 00 hours
Wednesday – 11 00 to 16 00 hours
The exhibition has been enhanced with a display of artefacts and belongings related to SSR and also by projection of several short documentary films on SSR
On the same oocasion a book ,title “CHACHA LE VISIONNAIRE Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam 1900 – 1985” has been donated as an exhibit for this Exhibition by Dr Amit Achameesing.
